AGRI 121  CAREERS IN AGRICULTURE

An introductory class to the many available professions and careers within agriculture. This course will expose students to opportunities available in agriculture with jobs, grants & funding, and assistance programs. (1 lecture)

AGRI 200  AGRI EQUIPMENT REPAIR & MAINT  
3 Credit Hours  
Agriculture Equipment Repair & Maintenance will give students a better understanding of repairing and maintaining farm equipment. Students will diagnose broken farm equipment, develop plans and budgets to fix equipment and repair broken equipment. (3 lecture)
AGRI 215  PLANT & SOIL SCIENCES  
3 Credit Hours  
This course will deal with basic science of plants, such as structures, functions and growth requirements as it relates to agronomy. The plant type focus will primarily be on field crops and the production and management of crops. Course topics would include basic uses and crop categories, plant anatomy, physiology, fertilizer, nutrition, crop identification, seed identification and weed identification. (3 lecture)
AGRI 221  HORTICULTURE  
3 Credit Hours  
This course provides instruction on the broad field of horticulture with an emphasis on the scientific and technical knowledge for a career in horticulture. Topics in this course include plant growth and development, plant nutrition, plant anatomy and physiology, media selection, basic plant identification, customer relations, career opportunities, leadership development and entrepreneurial skills. Students utilize problem-solving techniques and participate in hands-on activities to develop an understanding of course concepts. Students will be provided real-world learning opportunities and instruction. (3 lecture)
AGRI 223  FLORICULTURE  
3 Credit Hours  
Floriculture is an introductory class to the growing, marketing, sale and harvesting of flowers and other ornamental plants. This course will expose students to floriculture managing practices, hands-on management, and flower growing. (3 lecture)
AGRI 225  CROP PRODUCTION  
3 Credit Hours  
Crop Production will give the student a better understanding of commercial crop production management & harvest. In crop production, students will see step-by-step the process needed to better yields, prevent pest invasion and manage disease. (3 lecture)
AGRI 230  PEST MANAGEMENT  
3 Credit Hours  
Pest Management will give the student an introduction to identifying pests, diseases and weeds within a commercial crop production operation. Students will use this knowledge to develop an appropriate pest management plan and budget. (3 lecture)
AGRI 232  INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT  
3 Credit Hours  
This course will give students a better understanding of how to deal with pest, diseases and weed management. Utilizing new technologies and Integrated Pest Management tactics the students will defend their crops and care for those crops throughout the semester. (3 lecture)
AGRI 240  LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT  
1 Credit Hour  
An introductory class to the professions within the landscaping field. This course will expose students to landscape managing practices, hands-on landscape management and plant growing. (1 lecture)
